What the rule requires

Before a store loads analytics, advertising pixels, embedded video or any other non-essential script, the visitor has to agree, and refusing must be as easy as accepting. The consent record has to be kept. This is the most visible EU rule on any store, which is why it is also the one with the largest app market.

Who it binds: Every website that sets non-essential cookies or reads device storage for visitors in the EU, regardless of where the operator sits.
